Free Online Course List
Designed to be accessible to an audience of health science,
engineering and bioinformatics students with an understanding of
cellular biology, the selected lectures from this course provide a broad
outline of human pathology and diagnostics. A required textbook is
available for purchase online.
Part I of the slide presentations focuses on general pathology, which
is the basis of all disease. Part II is organized around pathologies of
specific organ systems. This course is part of Tufts dental program,
bridging between other basic science courses and dental science. Despite
its dental focus, this comprehensive pathology course covers all bodily
systems.
This histology course looks at cells, tissue and organs are
responsible for all bodily functions and thus the background for all
pathologies. Full texts of selected lectures accompany PDF slides
illustrating specimens and techniques.
Cardiovascular at the University of Michigan
This course bases the study of diseases of the cardiovascular system. in
physiology,
anatomy and other biological sciences. The professor explores disease
prevention methods as well as surgical and pharmacological treatments.
Methods to determine effectiveness of treatments are discussed.
The student learns about how nutrition and diet are linked with
health and good medical care. The course discusses using diet and
exercise habits to prevent or treat disease and how to work with
patients to assess and modify these behaviors.
This 4-hour class explores the use of genetic profiling to help
patients identify, their disposition to certain diseases, and to monitor
and control other risk factors. It focuses on the implications of
genetic profiling on health care in the United Kingdom.
This 15-hour slide presentation covers cardiovascular and circulatory
pathologies and their effects. It analyzes global trends for these
diseases along with the impact that history and geography have on
cardiovascular health. Risk factors for cardiovascular pathologies are
discussed.
